BIOGRAPHY

Rafael Rivera is a Managing Director of Operational Risk and is responsible for leading the company's global operational risk program, overseeing insurance placement and administration, claims management, and safety and loss control. Rafael partners with Construction Risk, Corporate Risk, Legal, Finance, and Operations to advance risk management practices that protect our people and our assets.

Prior to Greystar, Rafael spent 15 years of his career at General Electric Company as the Risk Manager for GE Aviation, GE Capital, and NBC Universal and as the risk and insurance for M&A lead. He has over 29 years of experience in risk management across multiple industries, including real estate and supply chain logistics. Rafael is a recipient of the Treasury & Risk Alexander Hamilton Silver Award for the development of a digital M&A platform.

Rafael currently serves as president of the Fairfield, CT/Westchester, NY Risk and Management Society. He was a licensed broker for Property & Casualty in New York for four years. He has a bachelor's degree in accounting from Pace University.
